Welcome to Hiatus Coffee, where community, quality, and tranquillity meet. Nestled beside the Lower Lliedi Reservoir, we’re more than a place to buy coffee—we’re a place to pause, to connect with nature, and to savour exceptional coffee and treats. 

Our journey began in response to a heartfelt request from the local community, who dreamed of a space like ours for years. With every visit, we aim to honour that trust and become a cherished part of your day.

Hiatus Coffee is the result of a shared vision between our team, the community, Welsh Water and Llanelli Rural Council. The reservoir needed a hub for locals and visitors alike—a place to relax, refuel, and connect. So in August 2023, as part of Wales’ first Community Adoption Scheme, Hiatus Coffee was born to meet those needs and the reservoir became our home.

Situated by the picturesque Lower Lliedi Reservoir, with its historic 1800s pump tower and serene woodland surroundings, we invite you to experience a #BrewWithAView. Whether it’s the sound of flowing water, the rustle of leaves, or the song of birds, our space offers a sensory escape from everyday life.

We go beyond serving coffee—we strive to create moments. From preheating cups in winter to spinning our prize wheel for purchases over £10 (win anything from a syrup to a sauna session!), every detail is designed with your experience in mind. Plus, we’re dog-friendly, with treats for your furry friends and plenty of scenic walks to enjoy together.

Our mantra is simple: quality first. We sampled over 10 suppliers before selecting Gower Coffee, renowned for its rich, full-bodied flavour and ethical sourcing. We pair this with Churchill’s fine china, crafted from Devon clay, preheated in winter to ensure every cup is perfect. Whether you take your drink to go for a walk or relax at our seating area, we want every visit to feel special.

We’re not just about coffee, though. The surroundings speak for themselves, creating an atmosphere of calm that needs no embellishment. Here, nature sets the tone, and we follow its lead.

Our menu reflects our passion for quality and creativity. We proudly serve Gower Coffee alongside an ever-changing range of syrups, Welsh/Italian ice cream, handmade cakes, and comforting staples like Cornish pasties. 

For those with dietary preferences, we offer vegan, vegetarian, and non-dairy milk options. And don’t forget to check out our monthly Hot Chocolate Specials, loved by regulars and newcomers alike.
